Niu Studios’ Crowdfunded showreel scheme

Introduction

Getting a good looking showreel can be time-consuming, difficult to get right and is often the crux of whether or not you find representation in the acting world.  We believe that getting content that shows off your talent as an actor shouldn’t be difficult.  This is why we’ve come up with the idea of crowdfunded showreels.

Sharing the costs

We’ve taken the idea of popular and incredibly successful campaigns run through indiegogo and Kickstarter and applied the same principles to our work.

What this means is that the costs are shared across multiple actors working on the scene/s to keep costs down and make sure the quality stays up.

We have scripts specifically designed for multiple actors in the story so that we can fit actors to roles best suited to their current acting ability, all while telling an engaging narrative at the same time.

Multiple Options

However, we’re open to ideas and are willing to cater to almost everyone - which is why we’ve created multiple paths to the crowdfunded showreel process.

• The First Path: Actors split the cost to play in a script provided by Niu Studios.

• The Second Path: An actor can choose to pay more in order to provide their own script - splitting the remaining cost between other actors.

• The Third Path: An actor covers the complete cost of doing a monologue to camera - simple, but well produced and edited.

We’ve just opened our doors for this and we’re excited on putting you on your own path to becoming a more successful actor.
